  1. Choose where you want to use QuickBooks. Note: If you have selected Express in the last step, move on to step 11.
  • I’ll be using QuickBooks on this computer – Select this option if you do not wish to use your QuickBooks over a network or if this computer will be used for running QuickBooks and not storing the company file.
  • I’ll be using QuickBooks on this computer, AND I’ll be storing our company file here so it can be shared over our network – Select this if you will be running QuickBooks and storing/sharing the company file as well on the network from this computer.
  • I will NOT be using QuickBooks on this computer. I will be storing our company file here so it can be shared over a network. (A license is not required for this option.) – Select this if want to use our QuickBooks over the network for sending and receiving files.
  1. Select a new install location. You can overwrite an older version or install the QuickBooks in a default location. Choose to Install to continue, or select back if you wish to go back and verify your choices in the previous screens.
  2. If you were using any QuickBooks process during the installation process, you will be prompted to restart your desktop. Choose the positive option. If you do not get any prompt on your screen, choose Open QuickBooks to get started.
  3. Wait for the installation process to get completed and once it is done, activate your QuickBooks and you’re all set.
